NHL 06 - How to determine skater type (SCO, PLY, CHD, etc.)

I was wondering how the game determines a skaters' playing type/personality. By that, I am talking about them being scorers, playmakers, grinders, offensive defensemen, checkers, or defensive specialists.

Does anyone know what attributes contribute the most for each 'personality'? For example, for a scorer, the player would have strong attributes for shooting and skating, correct? What about all the other types of playing styles?

I think (but am not 100% sure) that it relates to his attitudes (shooting-passing, passing-carrying, offense-defense).

A player with high offense will either be scorer/playmaker. From there, the passing stats will determine his path. The higher his chance of passing, the more likely he is to be a playmaker.
A grinder is basically a defensive forward, it seems (so basically offense-defense of 7 or lower).. That's in my experience.

same with defense: offensive is 9+, defensive is 6-, checker is 7-8... though I may not be right in all cases, that's what I've noticed as a trend. \

Hope this helped.
