How to uncompress Dynasty files...

Post by loken » Tue Jun 27, 2006 8:36 pm

My goal is to ultimate do some coding from an exernal app and modify my dynasty file.

I am looking for help on how to get started. I downloaded your great tools and attempted to extract some of the files out with the Vivextractor on my .dyn file the viv dll crashes with an aceess vilation.

Any ideas on where or how to get started?

Thanks
George

Well it looks like I can just access it with the TBDAccess.dll now I just need to try and find what I am looking for.

Before I dig to deep has any one had any like sending the GM an email (I am assuming the email is in the database file somewhere).

Thanks
George

I suggest you use TDBView to analyse dynasty files. I don't know exactly how emails are handled but it seems that they are stored in LEMD table. Each record is a 32-bit integer describing the email. It looks like you'll have to figure out what each bit means if you want to create/edit emails.
