Audio IDs

Post by drj32 » Mon Nov 11, 2013 6:23 pm

Can you please explain about how the audio slots work? The id #'s don't seem to be in any order.

For example, How can I assign a name of "SMITH" to a slot? How can I compute each audio ID number?
thanks

There are a few ways to do this.
First see if there is a player with the name your looking for, and use that audio id.

Second method requires more work. Create the player in the game, if there is a play by play name in the list in game use that ofcourse. then you will need to load your roster again in nhlview.

There is no magic list that tells you each names audio id.

Thanks Dougie, the only problem is I am creating an all 70's and 80's file, which means I am creating hundreds of new players.
It will take 5 minutes to find one name in the database by creating in game, saving the roster, loading in editor, noting the number and editing,
5 minutes per player means months of editing just for audio! This is after months of doing it manually in game, lol.
Are the id numbers really random?

If so, is ZERO (0) the option for play by play to call the player by number?
thanks

Yes 0 is for no play by play name.

The only way to get a sort able audio id list is to use the generic ea db editor, and you can sort the audio id by #

There is a thread on operation sports on how to use this editor

The next version of NHLView will have all the audio ids for built-in players as well as custom names

Is there a spreadsheet or something with all the audio ID's somewhere? Thinking of doing a big project and could use them.....

Here is the list of audio IDs. Note, I have not verified the validity!
